What does it mean that your products are non-toxic?

We follow a “clean beauty” philosophy, which means our formulations do not and will never include unsafe, disruptive ingredients such as parabens, phthalates, propylene glycol and BHT

Are your products cruelty free?

Care products are never animal tested. Although the FDA has not yet approved a legal definition that binds this term to a certain set of criteria, most in the industry define cruelty free as a cosmetic that has not been safety tested on animals.

Are your products organic?

While we do incorporate organic ingredients, Care is not an organic, natural line. We take a scientific approach that puts skin first, meaning we choose both natural and clean synthetic ingredients. Everything that goes into our products is backed by clinical data on safety and efficacy.

What does RIPT tested mean?

RIPT (Repeat Insult Patch Test) is a safety test used to determine the potential for irritation, sensitization and allergic contact of a product. To ensure Care products are safe and non-irritating for all skin types, all of our products have been RIPT tested and have passed.

Do your products have a fragrance?

Given that added fragrance is a common cause of irritation and allergic reactions in beauty products, our formulations contain no natural or artificial fragrances. Any scent you may notice from one of our products comes naturally from the ingredients.

When will my products expire?

All Care products have PAO, or “period-after-opening” symbol (it's that little icon that looks like an open cosmetics pot), with a corresponding number of months or years that indicates the useful lifetime of the product after opening.

Can men use your products?

Of course! Care products are not gender-specific and are designed to work for all skin types.

What skin types are Care products best for?

Our products are formulated to work across all skin types. Unless you have a medical skin condition, such as acne, rosacea, eczema, you should be able to use Care products effectively.

Can I use Care for my eczema?

If you have any medical skin condition, you should always check with your doctor or dermatologist before adding to your skincare regimen.

Can I use Tireless Retinoid Night Serum if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

Most doctors recommend avoiding retinol or retinoid skincare products while pregnant or breastfeeding. Please check with your physician before using.

Are your other products safe to use during pregnancy or during other health conditions?

All Care products include carefully curated ingredients that are safe for all skin types. However, most doctors will advise against the use of retinol or retinoid skincare products while pregnant or breastfeeding. You should always check with your physician first. If you have any other health concerns or questions, you should also check with your doctor before use.

I got some redness while using the Tireless Retinoid Night Serum—should I stop using it?

If your skin hasn’t been exposed to a retinol or retinoid skincare product recently, you may experience some initial redness or tingling. Retinoids are excellent exfoliators, which is ultimately great for your skin, but also means you could see some peeling or redness for the first weeks of use as you adjust to it. To ease the transition, use your serum sparingly and apply every other night to start. Once your skin becomes accustomed to the retinoid, increase to nightly use. Always make sure your skin is freshly washed but dry to the touch before applying, as there’s more risk of irritation when used on damp skin.

Do I really need to use sunscreen in the winter or when it's cloudy?

Absolutely! Although the strength of UVB rays changes seasonally and hourly, UVA rays can penetrate clouds, windows, certain types of clothing, and account for 95% of the UV light that reaches your skin. Damage and inflammation are also linked to blue light, which comes not just from the sun, but electronic devices and indoor lighting as well. So yes, a sunscreen is always a smart idea, no matter the weather or your plans for the day.

Is there a Care sunscreen?

Yes, it's coming soon! Sign up for our newsletter to be notified when it's available. (And be sure to use a different SPF in the meantime.)

Why do I need a separate eye cream? Can this cream be used on the lips?

The skin around your eyes is more delicate and susceptible to aging due to a number of factors such as low supply of oil glands, constant pulling and touching, daily makeup removal and even blinking. Our Eye + Lip Nourishing Cream is specifically formulated to address this type of skin with adjusted levels of active ingredients that treat and hydrate without causing irritation or inflammation. Please note, this cream is to be used around the lips for maximum de-aging benefits and not directly on them (it is not a lip balm).
